[:en]Another year ends and it is time to reflect on what has happened and on our actions in addition to thanking for all the blessings achieved, be it either a dream that had come true, the healing of a disease or deliverance from evil. The important thing is to show gratitude for our achievements, attributing them to the merciful and unconditional love of the Eternal Father.

Débora Correa, who is a manicurist and devotee from Vacaria (RS), is an example and has many reasons to be thankful. In March 2018, her son, Théo Correa, who was only six months old at the time, experienced a great miracle. He was hit by stray bullet, and even before such grave situation, he survived and had no after-effects. Débora says that the shot came from a fight between neighbors, right next to her house. One of the projectiles went through the door and hit the face of Théo, who was on a friend’s lap.

“When I saw the blood on my son’s face, I went into despair; I began to cry along with him. Immediately I grabbed him and ran to the street seeking help. A stranger stopped the car and took us to a hospital. Some tests were carried out and, as there are no ICUs in Vacaria, they immediately sent him to Bento Gonçalves, a nearby municipality where there were ICUs,” said Débora.

After the three-hour trip, he arrived there with some difficulty to breath. Théo spent 18 days in the ICU, eight out of them he was intubated. During this period, Débora never lost faith in the Divine Eternal Father and In Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The whole family made a strong chain of prayer, followed the Novenas on television and drank holy water, believing that after all that everything would be fine.

So it was! After hospitalization, the clinical presentation of the little Théo was good and he returned home only with a small scar and no after-effects. “Even the doctor could not explain it. It was a real miracle! In that moment, I realized how merciful The Eternal Father is and never forsakes us. Today, I usually say that my son has two dates of birth: the actual birthday and the day he was completely recovered,” emotionally said the mother.

Achievements

Like Deborah, the teacher Regina Kersten also makes a point of showing her gratitude for the past year, but for a different reason. In 2018, she finally saw her biggest dream come true: to get married. Last year, when she was already discouraged about her sentimental life, without hope, she met André Lima Rocha. At first, the conversation between them were only through messages. After a while, they decided to take a step forward and meet.

The site chosen was the Romeiros highway. The occasion was the Feast of the Divine Eternal Father. As they were great devotees, they took advantage of the path that links Goiania to Trindade to pray, thank the Eternal Father and to know each other better. From that moment on, Regina and André gave love a chance and started dating.

They got engaged in January of this year, after a mass held at the Shrine of the Divine Eternal Father. During Lent, as a form of penance and thanks for so many blessings, the couple walked every weekend (on Saturdays or Sundays) from Goiânia to the Trindade. They always asked the Father for guidance so that everything went well during the engagement and, in the future, after their wedding.

“Our love story is all tied to devotion, so we feel deeply blessed and enlightened by the Father. I am sure he has reserved something very special for us and the least we should do is thank him for the blessings we have received,” says Regina.

The wedding happened on December 1^st of this year. The date serves as a reflection for both. They look back and get proud of themselves and all that they had undergone up to the day they had their union consecrated to God. “The year of 2018 was proof that the Eternal Father really listens to our prayers and always guides us through the best path. I advise those who are unbelieving and distressed to have faith. Even though it is extremely difficult, we have to understand that our time is different from God’s time. The important thing is never give up,” says Regina.

Solidarity

One of the most beautiful ways to show our gratitude to the Eternal Father is through charity. This is what the accountant Júnior Roriz, founder of the group “Desenvolvendo Amor” [Developing Love] does. Guided by the spirit of solidarity and love for neighbors, he and the other members gather to welcome those who live on the margins of society in a special manner.

For seven years, every Wednesday the group has carefully prepared about 500 meals and served the people who live in the streets of Goiânia and Aparecida de Goiânia, Goiás, Brazil. Today, approximately 50 volunteers take turns to carry out this work. In addition, once a month, they act together along with other institutions and offer various services, such as: donation of clothes, provide food, toys, haircut, personal hygiene care, among others.

“It is a way to return all we get. We realized how minimal our problems are when compared to others performing such actions. That is why we must always be grateful,” claimed Roriz. For the next year, he plans to increase the number of people who receive the benefits and keep spreading the Father’s teachings about love for others.

“At the end of the day, we get the biggest reward. There is nothing better than seeing the smile on the face of those who receive our support. We truly learn through such work since we stop complaining about life and start giving thanks for every blessing granted by the Father”, concluded Roriz.[:es]Un año más llega a su fin, y en esta época, es común pensar en lo que pasó, reflexionar sobre nuestras acciones y agradecer por todas las bendiciones recibidas. Ya sea por la realización de un sueño, la cura de alguna enfermedad, por el libramiento de algún mal. Lo importante es demostrar gratitud por nuestras conquistas, atribuyendo estas al amor misericordioso e incondicional del Padre Eterno.

La manicurista Débora Correa, devota de Vacaria (RS), es un ejemplo y tiene mucho que agradecer. En marzo de este año, su hijo Théo Correa, que tenía sólo seis meses en la época, vivió un gran milagro. Fue alcanzado por una bala perdida, y a pesar de la gravedad, sobrevivió sin secuelas. Débora cuenta que el disparo provino de una pelea entre vecinos, al lado de su casa. Uno de los proyectiles atravesó la puerta y alcanzó el rostro de Théo, que estaba en el regazo de una amiga.

“Cuando vi la cantidad de sangre en el rostro de mi hijo, entré en desesperación, empecé a llorar junto con él. Inmediatamente lo cogí entre los brazos y salí a la calle a buscar ayuda. Un desconocido detuvo su carro, y conmovido nos llevó al hospital. Se realizaron algunos exámenes, y como en Vacaria no tienen UCI, inmediatamente lo mandaron a Bento Gonçalves, municipio cercano que cuenta con más recursos”, dice Débora.

Después de tres horas de viaje, llegó a la ciudad vecina ya con dificultades de respiración. Théo estuvo 18 días en la UCI, siendo ocho de ellos entubado. Durante este período, Débora nunca perdió la fe en el Divino Padre Eterno y en Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro. Toda su familia hizo una fuerte cadena de oración, acompañando las Novenas en la televisión y bebiendo agua bendita, en la creencia de que todo saldría bien.

¡Así sucedió! Después de la internación, el cuadro del pequeño Théo mejoró y volvió a casa sin ningún tipo de secuela, sólo con una pequeña cicatriz. “Ni el médico ha sabido explicar. ¡Fue un verdadero milagro! En ese momento, me di cuenta de lo mucho que el Padre Eterno es misericordioso y nunca nos desampara. Hoy en día, yo suelo decir que mi hijo tiene dos fechas de cumpleaños: la oficial y la de la recuperación”, dice la madre emocionada.

Logros

Así como Débora, la profesora Regina Kersten también insiste en demostrar su agradecimiento por el año que pasó, pero por otro motivo. En 2018, finalmente llevó a cabo su gran sueño: casarse. El año pasado, época en la que ya estaba desanimada en relación a la vida sentimental, sin perspectivas, conoció al trabajador independiente Andrés Lima Rocha. En principio, las conversaciones eran sólo por mensajes. Después de algún tiempo, decidieron dar un paso adelante y marcaron un encuentro.

El lugar elegido fue la Ruta de los Peregrinos. La ocasión fue la Fiesta del Divino Padre Eterno. Como grandes devotos, ellos aprovecharon el recorrido que separa Goiânia de Trindade para orar, dar gracias al Padre Eterno y conocerse mejor. A partir de ese momento, Regina y André le dieron una oportunidad al amor y comenzaron a salir.

El compromiso fue en enero de este año, después de una misa celebrada en el Santuario Basílica del Divino Padre Eterno. Durante la Cuaresma, como una forma de penitencia y de agradecimiento por tantas bendiciones, la pareja caminaba todo el fin de semana (sábados o domingos) de Goiânia a Trindade. Ellos siempre pedían consejos al Padre para que todo andará bien durante el noviazgo, y en el futuro, después de casados.

“Nuestra historia de amor está ligada a la devoción, por eso nos sentimos tan bendecidos e iluminados por el Padre. Estoy segura de que Él ha reservado algo muy especial para nosotros y lo mínimo que debemos hacer es dar las gracias por las bendiciones recibidas”, dice Regina.

El día de la boda fue el 1 de diciembre de este año. La fecha sirve como una reflexión para ambos, que miran hacia atrás y se enorgullecen de todo lo que vivieron hasta que la unión fue consagrada a Dios. “El 2018 ha sido la prueba de que el Padre Eterno realmente escucha nuestras oraciones y siempre nos guía por el mejor camino. El consejo que doy para aquellos que son incrédulos y angustiados, es que tengan fe. Por más difícil que sea, tenemos que entender que nuestro tiempo es diferente del tiempo de Dios. Lo importante es nunca darse por vencido”, aconseja Regina.

Solidaridad

Una de las formas más hermosas de demostrar nuestra gratitud al Padre Eterno es por medio de la caridad. Es lo que hace el contador Júnior Roriz, fundador del grupo Desarrollando el Amor. Guiados por el espíritu de la solidaridad y el amor al prójimo, él y los demás miembros se reúnen para acoger de forma especial a aquellos que viven al margen de la sociedad.

Desde hace siete años, todos los miércoles, el grupo prepara, con todo el cuidado y dedicación, alrededor de 500 comidas que sirven a las personas que viven en las calles de Goiânia y Aparecida de Goiânia. Hoy en día, aproximadamente 50 voluntarios se turnan para llevar a cabo este trabajo. Además, una vez al mes, ellos actúan junto a alguna entidad asistencial y ofrecen diversas ayudas, como: donación de ropa, canastas básicas, juguetes, corte de pelo, el cuidado con la higiene, entre otros.

“Es una forma de retribuir todo lo que recibimos. Con este gesto, pasamos a darnos cuenta de cómo nuestros problemas son mínimos si se comparan con los de otros. Por eso, debemos ser agradecidos siempre”, señaló Roriz. Para el próximo año, él planea incrementar aún más el número de atendidos por el grupo y continuar difundiendo la enseñanza del Padre sobre el amor al prójimo.

“A fin de cuentas, quién gana la mayor recompensa somos nosotros. No hay nada mejor que ver la sonrisa en el rostro de aquellos que reciben nuestro apoyo. Todo esto es un verdadero aprendizaje, ya que pasamos a quejarnos menos de la vida y agradecer por cada gracia concedida por el Padre”, finaliza Roriz.
