[:en]The day of the Saint Archangels, Miguel, Gabriel and Rafael, is celebrated in September. They are known by Christians due to remarkable passages in the Bible, in which the presence of each one was essential so that the Eternal Father demonstrated His mercy and His love. According to Fr. Cristiano dos Santos, responsible for the Saint Miguel Archangel Parish, in Goiânia (GO), the archangels are messenger and protector spiritual beings of God’s throne. “The Catechism of the Catholic Church affirms, in number 328, that spiritual beings, non-bodily, commonly called angels by Sacred Scripture, is a truth of faith. The testimony of Scripture regarding this topic is as clear as the unanimity of Tradition ” he explains.

The name of each archangel says a lot about the mission they fulfill here on Earth in favor of the Father’s children. Gabriel, for example, is the God’s messenger. He announced the good news to Maria saying she would be the mother of the God’s son. To Fr. Cristiano, there are some specific features on the Archangel Gabriel, which is possible to know through the Bible: “First, Gabriel is always in the presence of God. It not only receives messages directly from the Father with the mission of passing them to people but also may assume a human form ”

Archangel Rafael brings in his name the noble mission of healing. His name means “God heals”. “It is known as the bearer of divine healing and also as head of the Guardian Angels, patron saint of travelers and Angel of Providence that watches over humanity,” says Fr. Cristiano. Under Rafael’s care, they are the physical and spiritual cures, the liberation of both body and soul and the msnifestation of Divine Providence.

No-one like God

Saint Michael the Archangel is the head of the heavenly armies, that is, the one who conduct all the angels in the fight against the evil spirits. God entrusted him with the mission to assist His sons and daughters to overcome the temptations and everything that deflects the souls from eternal salvation. “Saint Miguel has three very important missions: guide and lead souls to heaven, after passing through judgement; Defending the church and the Christians; Presiding in heaven, the worship of the Holy Trinity and offering the Father the prayers of the believers here on Earth” claimed the priest.

Miguel carries in his name a question and a statement: Who is like God? No-one is like God. It’s a reminder that, besides the Father, there is no other creature with such love and power. “It is important that we devote prayer to the Holy Archangels so that they help us, increasingly, to bring us closer to God” concludes Fr. El nombre de cada Arcángel dice mucho sobre la misión que cumplen aquí en la tierra a favor de los hijos del Padre. Gabriel, por ejemplo, es el mensajero del Señor. Él dio la buena nueva a María, que sería ella la madre del hijo de Dios. Según el Padre Cristiano, hay algunas características específicas sobre el Arcángel Gabriel, que es posible conocer a través de la Biblia: “Primero, Gabriel siempre está en la presencia de Dios. Él recibe mensajes directamente del Padre, con la misión de repasarlos a las personas, pudiendo así, asumir forma parecida a los humanos”.

Ya el Arcángel Rafael trae en su nombre, la noble misión de la curar. Su nombre significa “Dios sanador”. “Él es conocido como el portador de la sanación divina y también como el jefe de los ángeles de la guardia, santo patrón de los viajeros y ángel de la providencia que vigila a la humanidad”, afirma el Padre Cristiano. Bajo el cuidado de Rafael, están las curaciones físicas y espirituales, la liberación del cuerpo y el alma, y la manifestación de la Divina Providencia.

Nadie como Dios

San Miguel Arcángel es el jefe de los ejércitos celestiales, es decir, aquel que impulsa a todos los ángeles en la lucha contra los espíritus malignos. Dios le confió la misión de ayudar a los hijos e hijas del Padre a vencer las tentaciones y todo aquello que desvía las almas de la salvación eterna. “San Miguel tiene tres misiones muy importantes: guiar y llevar las almas a los cielos, después de pasar por el juicio; defender a la iglesia y a los cristianos; presidir en el cielo, el culto de adoración a la Santísima Trinidad y ofrecer al Padre las oraciones de los fieles aquí en la tierra” Explica el Padre.

Miguel lleva en su nombre una pregunta y una afirmación: ¿quién como Dios? Nadie como Dios. Es un recordatorio de que, aparte del Padre, no hay otra criatura con tamaño semejante de amor y poder. “Es importante que dediquemos oración a los Santos Arcángeles para que nos ayuden, cada vez más, a acercarnos a Dios”, concluye el Padre Cristiano.[:]
