The Home Pio XII is one of the Social Works supported by the Association of Children of the Eternal Father (Afipe). Currently, the home welcomes and encourages about 35 young people aged between 7 and 15 years old. The home was created in Goiânia (GO) 57 years ago and today it has fulfilled various social functions. Since 2012, it works in the Vila Mutirão and is coordinated by the Dominican Sisters of the Holy Rosary.
In order to promote the improvement of life through evangelization, many works are developed daily. The social work offers in afterschool time computer classes, English and Portuguese classes, and offers young people training with moments of human culture, leisure activities and sports. Parents also benefit from psychological treatment.
Today, the home maintains eight educators and receives weekly the support of two volunteers who closely watch the children. The intention is to raise the number of attended people from 35 to 60 still in 2014. For this reason, since 2013 the home has received financial support from Afipe, enabling Sisters to continue their work, always offering the best quality in the activities.
