From a simple origin and a Christian family, Father Edinisio Gonçalves Pereira Vieira is the 11th of a total of 14 children. The Redemptorist Missionary was born on August 16, 1971, at Fazenda Mandaguaí, municipality of Luziânia (Goiás, Brazil). He graduated in Geography from the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), specializing in Geography, Environment and Tourism, also by UFG; and Bachelor of Theology at the Institute of Philosophy and Theology of Goiás (Ifiteg). After 20 years of reflection, he decided to open his heart to the priesthood. He entered the seminary in 2006, at the age of 35. His ordination was on 11 August, 2012. He was coordinator of Redemptorists Social Works of Goiás, vocations promoter of the Province of Goiás, trainer of Father Pelagius Seminar, in Trindade, and director of the San Clemente Seminary in Goiânia. He served as vicar in the parish Divine Eternal Father (Main Church of Trindade) and, since 2009, works in Shrine Basilica of Trindade, where he took over as dean in 2015.
